What is it?

VoiceOne Business Free Edition is a complete distribution based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, with Asterisk 1.8 and VoiceOne already installed and ready for use. Unlike the Open Source edition, Business versions do not include only the VoiceOne project, but a complete system fitted with all softwares preinstalled and configured, necessary for the proper functioning of a PBX system based on Asterisk and VoiceOne. Its main limitations compared to the full version are:
 

• limit of 3 extensions;
• no technical support other than through the forum;
• addons are not available.

How to install

To install it you have to download it from the link at the right of this page, burn the iso image and booting the pc, server or the virtual machine from the CD drive.

 

Once started the installer will ask you a few things before install the system:

 

Language: English or Italian
Disk: select the right disk where you want install the system to
HDD or CFC: select if the hard drive is a hard disk or a compact flash. If you select HDD the installer will setup a swap partition and all files will be store in the drive while, if you select CFC the installer will setup a RAM partition wherein the installer will store part of file system to preserve compact flash from much writing as possible
RAM: check if the quantity noticed by the system is correct
CPU: select the right CPU family to install the proper g729 codec

Once installed the system will boot up with the follow parameters:

IP address: 192.168.1.100

VoiceOne ssh console administrator user

• username: administrator
• password: voiceone

VoiceOne ssh console restricted user

• username: voiceone
• password: voiceone

For the first setup you have to go with your favorite browser to https://ip-address/ and follow the steps of setup's procedure. Once the setup is complete you could enjoy the new VoiceOne's version!!
